Purapura Whetu Graduation

The last graduation for the year took place at Purapura Whetu today, where 9 people graduated. Thanks to Toni and Rachel at PPW who have always been so supportive, and thanks to our wonderful trainer, Ria :)

At Bamford School this term, we experimented with a combined Computers in Homes, Stepping Up and KiwiSkills ICDL class. Three students were new, and 6 had already graduated from a CiH class. It worked fabulously and tutor Ria took it all in her stride :)

New Executive Director visits Chch

Stephen Carr, new Executive Director for 20/20 Trust, popped in to visit the Bamford School CiH class last week. Stephen was appointed two weeks ago, and was in Christchurch briefly to meet with local stakeholders, before heading to the West Coast.

Delivery of computer

Today Fale Faitaua was the proud recipient of her computer - hand delivered due to a delay in delivery. Fale participated in the Computers in Homes class at Linwood College, which was associated with the Pasikifa Powerup programme. Well done Fale!

Bamford class helps critique CCC website

On Thursday, some of the students in our Bamford School Computers in Homes class, helped critique the Christchurch City Council website. http://ccc.govt.nz/
Chandra Harrison and Kevin Prince from Christchurch City Council Digital Team joined tutor Ria Jeffcoat and the class. The functionality of the website was discussed, with many useful suggestions being put forward by the class.
